Marienne Kreitlow, Kitty Karn & Jerry Ford

Sensuality, spirituality and art meet in a show about the mysteries and wisdom of the world’s religions and mysticism - from Medieval England to Biblical Judea, ancient China to the Golden Age of Persia. Mariénne Kreitlow and Jerry Ford interweave original music, sacred texts, poetry, and dance. Each show is unique, with a changing array of guest artists.

Mariénne Kreitlow and Jerry Ford: A songwriter, poet, librettist, performer and recording artist, Mariénne Kreitlow is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist whose work covers various styles and genres from art song to inspirational to contemporary folk to blues to Broadway. She has produced six albums of original music to positive acclaim: “An unassuming gem” -Boston Globe, “beguiling” -Minneapolis City Pages. She performs original theatrical worship services with husband, actor-musician Jerry Ford, founder and director of the Minnesota Garlic Festival, and sound technician for the Paramount Theatre and G.R.E.A.T. children’s theatre in St. Cloud. www.marienne.com

Kitty Karn: Originally from Albert Lea, and known as the “Garlic Diva” in Minnesota, Kitty Karn teaches Voice and Musical Theatre at Western Illinois University. Prior to that, she lived in Houston, Texas for 20 years where she performed with Opera in the Heights, Theatre Under the Stars, Alley Theatre, Stages Repertory Theatre, and The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston. It was there she met and frequently performed with Mariénne and Jerry. www.kittykarn.com

Bob Fantauzzo: Bob Fantauzzo found his “voice” with the Native American flute. Influenced greatly by the music/sound of R. Carlos Nakai, Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Bobb continues the journey of developing his own unique voice: a blending of the Native American flute and jazz. www.bobbfantauzzo.com

Sarah Jones-Larson, &/or Shari Jeziorski, &/or Renee Szudy: Select members from Jawaahir Dance Company explore their personal expression of connection to Spirit through the art of dance In “Poetry of the Divine”. www.jawaahir.org

Katherine Rogers: Twin Cities visual artist Katherine Rogers will be creating an original work during the show. She is fascinated by the power and play of words and images and the possibilities of creative collaboration. Katherine has facilitated community workshops on art, healing and spirituality.
