Jesus at Guantanamo
Matthew Vaky

Is this anyway to treat God? Is the man in the orange jumpsuit really our lord and savior? He hasn’t been charged, he doesn’t have access to a lawyer, and he has been sleep deprived. If he is not Jesus, then he has some PRETTY FUNNY ideas about the Bible, Habeas Corpus, and man’s inhumanity to man.

I thought it was a good video. To me it feels like what a person believes to be truth is truth, becomes truth. Uncertainty and fear of the unknown and any type of torture/violence is for certain a unpleasant trial period. Life is a wonderful gift, it also is difficult and we all know it’s not fair.

This show is incredibly powerful and smart. Biblical verse and current events are intertwined and flipped to give deeper meaning to both. The performance I saw was flawless - Vaky knows how to craft a show and act. If the topic interests you, you won’t be dissappointed.

The absolute guts and critically thoughtful material of this show demonstrates artistic maturity beyond the simple desire to entertain.
This is socially engaged art, art that is historically relevant, thereby pertinent to all our lives.
