Jerry Seifert’s protrayl of a veteran facing the painful memories of his past is deeply moving. Each gesture, pause, visual memory brought you directly into the world of this man.
As someone who works with elders/veterans/holocaust survivors in long term care facilities I found Dachau Dreaming a powerful, creative expression of what happens when one is left alone in room to face past memories–alone. As the playwright Seifert gives us hope when bringing in the grandson.
Dachau Dreaming is an important play for today’s world. It’s powerful message is a wake up call reminding us that our painful memories, stories need to be witnessed and transformed into legacies for future generations to learn from. And that the time is now to bring our “elders” wisdom
into the life cycle. Thank you Jerry for your heaing and transformative message.
