3 Reviews for Cigarettes for Jesus

  1. Cigarettes for Jesus is a truly entertaining play with a wonderful cast. Steve Anderson’s wry look into prosperity theology, marketing, the religious right, and the role of women in church is provocative and wicked funny.

    Go see it!

  2. Steve Anderson is a great writer, I’ve seen his work before. Cigarettes For Jesus was very entertaining and funny. The actors were superb, and have obviously studied their craft. the choice of actor per character was perfect. A young christian couple talking business about their inherited chinese cigarette factory was funny in itself. The battle between greed and conscience made it that much more interesting… and humorous!

  3. An ironic examination of the popular prosperity theology drawing people into churches today. The young woman’s character grows in faith and sense of ethics as she struggles with their inherited cigarette business. Too many scene changes but certainly worth seeing. I laughed a lot.
