  1. WOW!! These dancers are truly gifted. The choregraphy showcased each dancer and their individuality. It also combined their talents to create exciting and subtle patterns, shapes and emotions. A nice variety to the program held the audience’s interest and left us sometimes breathless…highly recommended!!!

  2. It was indeed a Quiet Storm - we saw the show during a time that (unknown to us, shielded by the building and the music) storms were raging outside. A perfect metaphor: The dance was sublime, engaging, and beautiful, taking me to a different, very peaceful but fully awake place. I’m not a dance expert, but found the choreography to be gorgeous, the dancers expert, and the total effect awe-inspiring. I am so glad I attended!

  3. A marvelous show. Delightful choreography, and the two principal dancers–Megan Bridges and Bryan Gerber–were superb, dance after dance. Their muscularity and lyricism created an intensity in their relationships that was spellbinding. (I hope to see more of them!) The touches of humor in the dances with three dancers provided a nice counterpoint within the show.

  4. As I think back to “A Quiet Storm” I remember wonderful dancing by a committed ensemble. Choreography that has an unexpected range of movement choices and expressive intent. It re-excited me about concert dance and moving again.

  5. Many years of being in, around, and witnessing choreography has made me a picky observer. If something isn’t quality, it’s harder for me to watch. This being said, I really liked each and every piece on the program for ‘A Quiet Storm.’ All the movements seemed meaningful and well-done. The name ‘A Quiet Storm.’ well-suited the performance as well- the pieces were calm, but there was a lot underneath each.
Out of all the pieces, two especially stood out-’Opening,’choreographed by Christopher Watson and danced by Brian Gerber with music by Moby, and ‘Body and Soul,’ choreographed and danced by Nicole Grandstand and Megan Bridges. I hope that this company will have many more performances to come.

  6. Barbara O’Sullivan & I attended one of the Spirit in the House performances. We liked the program very much; the stage and setting seemed to work well for the dancers and the audience. Ambient noise from other stages was a bit distracting.
We rarely miss a performance of Christopher Watson Dance Company. Our only regret, is that you don’t have more performances with a larger company like the one at the Southern Theatre several years back. One of the duets from the Spirit in the House program was from that performance.
